Heart Disease and Chiropractic Care

Enfermedad de corazón y quiropractica

There is a significant relationship between vertebral subluxation and heart function!

Years ago, a cardiologist and his wife came to my office as new patients. We gave them a checkup and scheduled an appointment to discuss the results. After explaining the history of chiropractic care to them, I went over the test results and shared my recommendations for their care. The cardiologist understood and clearly saw the need for chiropractic care. However, he remarked that since his wife had no disc degeneration, she would not have any nerve interference and therefore would not need this type of care.

At that moment, I asked him a question: “Doctor… do you know what mechanoreceptors are and what the dysafferentation?” Testosterona-y-enfermedades-del-corazon-hay-un-vinculo-2 Obviously, he had no idea! At that point, I explained to him the basic neurology behind subluxation and the effects I wouldn’t want to see his wife struggle with for the rest of her life. I wasn’t trying to discourage him; I wanted him to understand how his wife’s subluxations were impairing her function and that the only solution was chiropractic care. The woman came to the office struggling with thyroid-related issues that had only been treated with medication. No one had ever checked his spine or his nervous system! And he was following the same path as most Americans… pills, pills, and more pills! Just like this woman and many others who are looking for another solution!

Understanding subluxation and having confidence in its treatment allows us to help you better. If it were simply a matter of a hard bone pinching a soft nerve, the cardiologist would have been convinced that there was no need for treatment. I stood face to face with that man and told him the truth as I understood it.

It made perfect sense to him… they both started taking care of it the very next day!

First, we need to recognize the importance of heart disease in our culture:

  • About 600,000 people die from heart disease in the United States each year. That's 1 in every 4 deaths.
  • Heart disease is the leading cause of death among both men and women.
  • Coronary heart disease alone costs the United States $108.9 trillion each year.

108.9 BILLION a year! Can you imagine how much good could be done with just a quarter of that amount? Since 1984, more women than men have died each year from heart disease. Heart disease is now the leading cause of death among women, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined. However, only 56 percent of American women realize that heart disease is the greatest threat to their health.

These figures are staggering! It’s essential to understand that the spine plays a vital role in enabling the heart and vascular system to function fully.

No doctor can have a greater direct impact on heart function than a chiropractor.

A vertebral subluxation alters blood chemistry through the hypothalamus. When a man or woman experiences a subluxation, there is an increased release of endorphins and norepinephrine, which are stress hormones.

These stress hormones, called catecholamines, are released as a result of the “fight-or-flight” response. This response is a direct result of the increase and prolongation of sympathetic nervous system activity.

IT IS A WELL-KNOWN FACT THAT AN INCREASE IN SYMPATHETIC ACTIVITY IS A MAJOR CAUSE OF CARDIOVASCULAR EVENTS AND DISEASES!

Chiropractic adjustments reduce sympathetic tone by influencing the nervous system through the hypothalamus! (Heart disease and chiropractic) That is why studies such as the 2007 blood pressure study achieved remarkable results in blood pressure through adjustments to the upper cervical spine.

The evidence is clear. Science is real. The element that makesKnowledge is power!  Now is the time to share knowledge and solutions to address one of the most dangerous threats to heart health… Vertebral Subluxation and Its Relationship to Heart Disease and Chiropractic Care
