Vertebral Subluxation in Children: A Hidden Epidemic

Una Epidemia 80% de niños

Vertebral subluxation in children is a problem that affects 8 out of 10 newborns. This article explores how birth trauma can cause nerve dysfunction and other health problems.

An 80% Epidemic Among Children

The Dr. Abraham Towbin,

A pathologist at Harvard University discovered evidence of common spinal injuries resulting from the birthing process. Among the effects of trauma he examined were evidence of intracranial hemorrhage, brain contusion, damage to the nerves that regulate breathing, and vertebral subluxation in the upper cervical region. He also discovered spinal injuries in many cases of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and various respiratory conditions.

The Dr. Towbin

It cites a study by Matthew Duncan, which found that between 41 and 56 kg pressure exerted during pushing in childbirth to cause damage to the spine, and stated that such pressure is common in normal modern childbirth.

The Dr. Biedermann,

A Belgian doctor has been advocating for the importance of spinal examinations in newborns for more than 40 years. He discovered that «the medical records of more than 135 infants with muscle tension at the base of the skull revealed that a significantly high proportion of these infants suffered birth injuries due to prolonged labor and/or the use of forceps.».

A study of 583,340 babies born between 1992 and 1994 reveals a link between the use of forceps or cesarean section and head injuries in newborns.

The study of Chiswick:

17.41 TP3T of babies born by cesarean section take an abnormally long time to start breathing.
The 23.3% group exhibits unusual irritability or lethargy.
15.11% of TP3T infants sustained birth injuries.

The Dr. Fallon

summarizes several causes of congenital torticollis. It estimates that 34% of children with congenital torticollis are born in the breech position; and that the most common type of congenital torticollis is associated with subluxation of part of the upper cervical spine.

The Dr. Gutmann

examined more than 1,000 children and concluded that approximately 80% of all newborns had some form of nervous (neurological) dysfunction. Failure to detect nervous dysfunction associated with birth trauma can result in:

• Shortness of breath
• Irritability
• Frequent coughing up of phlegm or vomiting
• Problems in the pharynx and larynx (throat)
• Stomach and colon irritation
• Colic
• Asthma
• Headaches
• Sleep Problems
• Learning difficulties
• Ear infections
• Difficulty eating, latching onto the breast, and even trouble swallowing
• Mechanical problems (Scoliosis…)
• Hyperactivity
• Neurological disorders
