Chiropractic Breathing for Health and Wellness

At the Marc Bony Chiropractic Center in Mataró, we introduce you to Dr. Sid E. Williams’ chiropractic breathing exercises, a powerful technique for improving your natural health and overall well-being.

One of the most important pieces to be, aside from La Fuente de la Quiropráctica, are the educational components that raise your level of awareness. Today we want to share with you The 49 Breathing Meditations by Dr. Sid E. William.

«The 49 Breaths» is a series of breaths followed by affirmations. This form of meditation was developed by Dr. Sid E. Williams, a chiropractor and the creator of the Essential Dynamic Meeting; it is designed to uplift the spirit and reconnect the physical body to its inner source.

To begin with: Sit on the edge of the chair, without shoes, with your feet flat on the floor. Gently place your hands on your knees with your palms facing up, and close your eyes.
Set the intention for your meditation practice and acknowledge the moment when you step aside to return to yourself.
When you're ready, place your palms facing down and begin the breathing sequence. The breaths They are performed by inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. As you inhale, lift your head and move it backward as if you were looking up at the sky or at the ceiling, pull your stomach in and, as you exhale, tilt your head downward, as if you were looking at your abdomen or resting your chin on your chest, and pull your stomach in.
The number of breaths is divided into 4 series Each one with the affirmations in between. The palms face down during the breaths, and the palms face up and the spirit is open during the affirmations.

• 14 Breaths -> Affirmations
• 14 Breaths -> Affirmations
• 14 Breaths -> Affirmations
• End with a deep inhalation followed by a long, deep exhalation or “Om”
Here is a sample set of affirmations you can use during moments of stillness to focus on whatever you want in your life—for example, love, light, energy, strength….

We’d like to invite you to try doing these breathing exercises every day for the next two weeks and see what unfolds in your life. Dr. Sid recommends doing them three times a day… but you can do more repetitions.
