While the health of the planet is our responsibility, so is our own health: We are part of nature that needs to be cared for—a body and a mind that we must stop polluting and destroying, and learn to respect and love just as we love and respect plants, the air, and animals.

SUN This is one of the essential elements for good health; it is necessary for the formation of bones and teeth, as it helps the body absorb calcium. You can eat a wonderful, high-quality diet, but if you don't get enough sunlight, you'll become anemic and unhealthy.

You should spend at least 20 minutes in the sun, whether by taking a nice walk in a park or doing an outdoor activity.

AIR Oxygen is another essential element for health; proper oxygenation is vital for the body’s warmth and energy, for the proper digestion of food, and to ensure that its nutrients are absorbed and utilized effectively.

It is, therefore, of the utmost importance to breathe properly and engage in physical activity that helps us get a good supply of oxygen. The best oxygen is found in places far from the city: walking in the woods or on the beach is extremely beneficial to our health.

EARTH Being in contact with this element helps us recharge our energy and flush out toxins. One way to connect with the earth is to walk barefoot on grass or beach sand, but we can also benefit from it by using clay masks, which are excellent for nourishing, firming, and exfoliating the skin.

FOOD These should be of the highest possible quality, varied, fresh, and well-balanced. Processed, sugary, and additive-laden foods, as well as fried foods and processed meats, should be eliminated, as they only impair the body’s vital functions, robbing the body of energy rather than providing it.

Vegetables, nuts, and seeds should make up the bulk of the diet.

THOUGHTS The mind also needs nourishment, and its best nourishment comes from thoughts that inspire well-being, harmony, curiosity, exploration, and beauty.

We must try to keep our minds focused on what we want and not let them be clouded or distracted by things that make us angry, afraid, or cause other undesirable feelings.

FUN AND JOY It's not enough for the body to have its needs met in order to feel good: it needs to feel fully engaged in life, to feel drawn to the very act of living.

So, you should try to find activities that you truly enjoy; you need to give yourself moments of relaxation, break out of your routine, explore, and dare to try new ways of doing things, thinking, and seeing the world.

MOVEMENT The entire universe is in motion: even though we don’t see the stone moving, it is moving—very slowly—but its molecules are in motion. Motion is an essential element of life; everything is moving, everything is evolving and expanding, and nothing can remain static.

Our heart is part of this evolutionary process; just as reality and our mind grow and evolve, so does our heart. Therefore, we must be open to change and movement, not close our minds, and keep them open to new insights.

When we resist and refuse to change or to stop seeing things the way we’ve always seen them, that’s when we suffer and feel pain. So don’t resist the new; learn to go with the flow, and trust in the intelligence, wisdom, and love found in every molecule that moves in nature.
