Northern Europe Is Now in the Dark
The Netherlands has been the last country - after Russia and Mexico - to in saying no to Monsanto. As of the end of 2015, the sale of herbicides based on glyphosate by private entities due to a recent decision by thethe Dutch Parliament. This means that people spraying Roudnup on their lawns and gardens will have to find another way to control the pests. The main ingredient in RoundUp, RoundUp's glyphosate, has been linked to cancer, infertility, birth defects, nervous system damage and kidney disease.
Glyphosate Is Bad for Your Health
Many citizens of the Netherlands expressed their concern about the use of of glyphosate and they shared their opinions at a reporting center that was launched and overseen by Bollenboos and the Party for the Animals. Before this initiative was launched, people had no representative to whom they could direct their concerns, and the true number of people who opposed to glyphosate prompted Esther Ouwehand and Gerard Schouw, two members of the Dutch parliament, to introduce a motion to the glyphosate ban for the country. Several political parties supported the motion, which was finally approved.

Hopefully, this recent action by the Netherlands will spur other countries to follow suit. Millions of people across the U.S., Canada and many other countries have mobilized to take action. against Monsanto products in the hope of a ban, but little action is being taken by government representatives to enforce it.
