The leading cause of obesity is diabetes.
I just finished reading an extraordinary article published in The New York Times last Wednesday, February 27—which reviews the details of an astonishing study that was recently published. This study, for the first time in history, conclusively identifies prolonged, excessive, and persistent weight gain as the leading cause of type 2 diabetes.
However, they overlooked an incredibly important detail, which I’ll explain in a second, but first, let’s look at the part they did get right. The study showed that the link between this leading cause of type 2 diabetes—and, by extension, other health issues and persistent obesity—was just as strong as the link between smoking and lung cancer. So what is the leading cause?
Sugar—it's that simple.
Surprised? I don't think so. But what's amazing is what the column has to say: «All calories release the same amount of energy when we burn them, but your body treats calories from sugar differently, and that difference is harmful.».
FINALLY, people in the mainstream media are acknowledging what we've known for years: that not all calories are created equal… and that the most devastating effects—a growing waistline, clogged arteries, and diabetes—are caused by the calories you consume from sugar.
HOWEVER, this study and this article overlook an incredibly important detail. It is not simply sugar itself that causes your body to accumulate excess fat and leads to type 2 diabetes, tIt is also the fact that our bodies convert all of these foods into sugar that causes them to perform the same function.
These are the foods most of us eat every day—foods we thought were healthy, but that are actually absolutely loaded with sugar in various forms.
It is these types of hidden sugars that you should avoid entirely—they prevent your body’s primary fat-burning hormone from functioning properly while forcing your primary fat-storing hormone to overact, causing one layer of unwanted fat to accumulate on top of another.
How to Avoid Sugar
Fortunately, I recently came across a fantastic explanation by my friend and colleague Dr. Bowden, a world-renowned nutritionist, who summarizes all these hidden types of sugar—and exactly how to avoid them. ==> NEVER Eat These 2 Foods to Avoid Excess Fat and Type 2 Diabetes…
