Top 10 Chiropractic Clinics
Finding a good Doctor of Chiropractic Not only is it the key to correcting damage caused by years of poor posture or injury, but it is also important for anyone who wants to take a proactive approach to their health. I don't know of any other profession on the planet that can prevention of neuromuscular diseases such as chiropractic care.
That's why I've been getting personal adjustments for over 18 years, and I recommend that my patients, friends, and family members do the same. But don't just take my word for it—here are some of the studies and medical research to demonstrate the therapeutic benefits of chiropractic.
1. Sciatica
The European newspaper La Columna last year published the findings of a clinical trial that discovered how chiropractic adjustments resulted in a higher rate of a 72% success rate in the treatment of sciatica and related symptoms, compared with a 20% success rate for physical therapy and a 50% success rate for corticosteroid injections.
Compared to most medical treatments, some interventions can initiate back pain relief and healing as can chiropractic adjustments!
2. Lower back pain and neck pain
In a study published in the 2003 British Medical Journal, 183 patients with neck pain were randomly assigned to manual therapy (spinal adjustment), physiotherapy (mainly exercise) or general medicine (counseling, education and medication) in a 52-week study.
The average clinical outcome showed that chiropractic adjustments resulted in the following outcomes faster recovery than physiotherapy and general medicine. In addition, the total costs of chiropractic in treated patients, were about one third of the costs of physiotherapy or medicine generates a third of the costs ofl.
Another study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapies found patients with chronic lower back pain treated by chiropractors showed greater improvement and satisfaction in one month compared to patients treated by family physicians.
Satisfaction gains were higher in chiropractic patients. A higher proportion of chiropractic patients (a 56% vs. a 13%) reported that their lower back pain was better or much better, while nearly one-third of physician patients reported that their lower back pain was worse or much worse.».
In a study funded by the NIH National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine to test the efficacy of different approaches to neck pain treatment, 272 participants were divided into three groups, receiving spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) by a doctor of chiropractic (DC), pain medication (with either over-the-counter analgesics, narcotics and muscle relaxants) or exercise recommendations.
After 12 weeks, 57% of the people who visited the Doctor of Chiropractic and the 48% exercisers reported at least a 75% pain reduction device, compared to the 33% of the people in the medication group. After one year, In the case of the drug-free groups, approximately 53% of the drug-free groups continued to report at least one 75% pain reduction, compared to only 38% of pain reduction among those taking medication.
3. Headaches: Tension headaches and migraines
After back pain, headaches are one of the most common conditions that chiropractors regularly treat.
At the time I conducted this research, more than 230 peer-reviewed articles referred to chiropractic care’s ability to help treat, prevent, and alleviate headaches and migraines in people around the world.
A group test found that 22% of people who had received chiropractic treatment saw a drop in the number of these attacks. on a 90%. In that same study, the 49% said that they had a reduction significant in the intensity of pain.
Compared to many medical treatments, few interventions can initiate headache relief like chiropractic adjustments.
4. Colic and Ear Infections
A study published in 2012 by the Journal of Physiologic Therapeutic Manipulation found that chiropractic adjustments greatly reduced the symptoms of the colic.
Although very few randomized controlled trials have been conducted describing the clinical effects of chiropractic care in children, many case studies that have been documented describe how children suffering from otitis media (ear infection), acid reflux and colic have experienced almost complete resolution after only a few visits.
The reasons for this phenomenon vary, but they have one aspect in common and that is that the nerves that control the intestine and the brain are intimately linked to each other and are very sensitive to a neurological insult caused by vertebral subluxations.
5. Neurological Diseases
Exciting MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) research is underway showing how adjustments to the upper cervical affect various brain diseases. What we have seen so far is quite surprising.
MRI scans not only reveal that cerebrospinal fluid and blood flow are markedly increased after a chiropractic adjustment, In addition, researchers are observing that cerebellar invagination (when the cerebellum falls below the skull line) is reversed and the cerebellar plate disappears (common in patients with multiple sclerosis).
Montel Williams, the famous TV host, was interviewed about his experience as a patient in MS under chiropractic care. See here how his life has changed!
6. Blood Pressure
In 2007, George Bakris, a world expert in hypertension published a study with a team of researchers in the Human Journal of Hypertension showing how a chiropractic adjustment in the upper part of the cervical spine had the same effect as two pressure-lowering drugs.
Even more fascinating, the effects of a single adjustment lasted more than 6 months! Compared to patients treated with a placebo, those who underwent the actual procedure saw a 14 mmHg greater decrease in systolic blood pressure (the higher number in blood pressure), and an average drop of 8 mmHg in diastolic blood pressure (the lower number in a blood pressure reading).
Other studies have shown similar results with patients hypotensive patients and their low blood pressure rose to normal levels after chiropractic care..
This is exciting because it highlights the body's ability to create a state of homeostatic balance once vertebral subluxations have been eliminated.
7. Prevention and Surgery
Chiropractic has been proclaimed by the natural medical services as a natural method to avoid back surgery.
In fact, the magazine of the American Medical Association (JAMA) recently published its guidance for lower back pain and suggested that people suffering from back pain should first attempt to chiropractic before resorting to surgery.
8. Frozen Shoulder
Last year a clinical trial was published describing how patients suffering from debilitating frozen shoulder disease responded to chiropractic care.
Out of 50 patients: 16 solved the problem completely; 25 showed from 75% to 90% improvement, 8 showed from 50% to 75% improvement; and 1 showed from 0% to 50% improvement.
9. Scoliosis
Chiropractic adjustments for scoliosis, combined with muscle rehabilitation techniques, can help prevent the progression of scoliosis.
Organizations such as the nonprofit Instituto Claro, founded by the Dr. Dennis Woggon have been established to train healthcare professionals with an effective chiropractic system to treat people with scoliosis.
The Institute has refined a prototype and discovered that it is possible to effectively treat the disease without the use of restrictive devices or dangerous surgeries.
In many cases in the study, participants experienced a reduction in the curvature of their scoliosis from 10% to 30%.
You can read about some of these cases here. If you or a family member has scoliosis, I strongly recommend that you contact a Center for a chiropractor who specializes in scoliosis to see if they can help you.more info
10. Physical Performance
There is a reason why athletes—both today and in the past, such as Michael Phelps, Jerry Rice, and Joe Montana—receive regular chiropractic care.
In fact, more than 50% of NFL (National Football League) teams have a chiropractor on staff. While chiropractic care is highly effective for treating pathological conditions and pain, one aspect of it is often overlooked: its ability to improve athletic and personal performance.
Studies have shown that:
- Reduces inflammatory cytokines
- Boosts your immune system
- Improves lung function
- Reduces oxidative and mental stress
- Relieves muscle tension
- And it can naturally boost your energy level
Studies have shown, both objectively and subjectively, that chiropractic patients experience an «improvement in overall bodily function,» which includes regular bowel movements and mental clarity.
Basically, because chiropractic helps put the body in the position where it can heal itself, chiropractic adjustments can free up the immune system to focus on keeping you healthy, which improves your ability to think, move and act.
There's no reason not to try chiropractic care—GO FOR IT!!!
