Ingredients (serves 2–4)

  • 1 cup made from quinoa
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/8 – 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or raw honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/8 cup sulfur-free dried fruit or sliced organic bananas
  • Almond, hemp, hazelnut, or rice milk (to taste)

Optional:

  • Cardamom to taste
  • Nutmeg to taste

 

Preparation

  • Boil the quinoa: Carry the 2 cups of water Bring to a boil in a saucepan.
  • Prepare the base: Add the quinoa to the boiling water and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. (It can be prepared the day before and reheated before serving.).
  • Add flavor: Stir in the cinnamon and mix well. Optionally, add cardamom or nutmeg.
  • Sweeten slightly: Add the maple syrup or raw honey and stir until combined.
  • Add toppings: Top with the chopped nuts and dried fruit or sliced banana.
  • Serve hot: Serve with your choice of hot plant-based milk for a creamier, more comforting texture.
