8 Questions to Ask Before Getting Vaccinated

Vaccines are pharmaceutical products that come with risks that may be greater for some individuals. No vaccine is safe for everyone.

If you decide to get vaccinated, ask your doctor these 8 questions before getting vaccinated:

Number one: Am I sick right now? Getting vaccinated while sick may increase the risks of a vaccine reaction or decrease the effectiveness of the vaccines.
Number two: Have I had a bad reaction to a vaccine before? Getting vaccinated again after a previous vaccine reaction could lead to a more severe reaction, injury, or death.
Number three: Do I have a personal or family history of vaccine reactions, neurological disorders, severe allergies, or immune system problems? Always review your personal and family medical history when assessing the benefits and risks of the vaccine.
Four: Am I aware of the risks of the disease and the vaccines? Learn about the risks of diseases and vaccines that may be greater for you or your child.
Number five: Do I have complete information about the side effects of the vaccines? Before taking a risk, find out what each vaccine that you or your child will receive is for.
Number six: Do I know how to identify and report a vaccine reaction? Learn to recognize the symptoms of a vaccine reaction and where and how to report them.
Number seven: Do I know that I need to keep a written record, including the name of the vaccine manufacturer and the lot number, for the vaccines? The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 in the U.S.,National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program requires all vaccine providers to record information about the vaccines administered to you or your child. In Spain, there is no such program as in other developing countries (information on this topic)
Number eight: Do I know that I have the right to make an informed decision? Informed consent for taking medical risks, including vaccine risks, is a human right. Vaccination is never mandatory.
