The paint is still fresh, his body needs time.

La curacion necesita tiempo

Healing Takes Time

You have been under chiropractic care for a couple of weeks and are already starting to feel better.

You want to get back to your routine as soon as possible. There are plenty of things to do at home, you have a family to take care of, and you can’t wait to return to the gym.

You have the urgency to start “living” again. The problem is that… the paint isn’t quite dry yet. It’s not uncommon to feel like “everything is done” after a few adjustments.

When the body’s innate healing abilities kick in, you can look and feel very new – as if you have a fresh coat of paint. But just like a new coat of paint, appearances can be deceiving. What looks completely dry (healed) on the surface may still have some sticky areas underneath. If you push too hard and try to go back to your old activities, you could ruin the finish and have to start all over again.

Complete and thorough healing takes time (Healing Takes Time). Although you may feel like your old self after just a few chiropractic sessions, you still don’t have the green light to return to your previous activities.

The stabilization phase of care (when you feel so good you wonder why you keep coming to the center) is when all the “drying/healing of paint” occurs.

Give your body the time it needs to dry completely, and you will be happier with the final results. Marc Bony, DC
