A report funded by the Australian Spinal Research Foundation suggests a link between chiropractic care and the reduction of asthma symptoms.

“When an asthma patient is exposed to stressful situations, cortisol levels increase, which is the growth hormone but also related to anxiety.

This drastic increase in cortisol can trigger an asthma attack through a series of mechanisms,” says Dr. Hayek.

“The levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, consistently decreased during the adjustment, and the levels of immune markers (immunoglobulin A) consistently increased.”

Apparently, reducing stress in the nervous system with chiropractic care decreases the likelihood of asthma attacks.
