golf and chiropractic: don’t blame the tee

It’s just a golf tee, a small piece of wood that barely weighs an ounce. But when he bent down to pick it up after finishing the last hole, it could have felt like a 135kg weight. He noticed a small pop in his back and then began to feel a sharp spasm.

How could such a small thing cause such a big problem?

What he didn’t realize is that his spine had been already misaligned for some time. At some point, the vertebrae lost their alignment – possibly a few months ago due to a minor slip or perhaps from years of neglect.

A subtle nerve pressure (subluxation) occurred, and now his muscles are doing everything they can to keep him upright. Bending down on the 9th green was literally the last tee that tipped the scales.

When a minor act turns into a major injury, what concerns the Chiropractor most is not what you did – what they are concerned about is what you are NOT doing.

Let this be a lesson to pay more attention to the maintenance needs of your spine. Do the smart thing – be regular with your spinal adjustments to prevent it from happening again. Golf and chiropractic is like in many sports a good combination to optimize body function. More info at quiropractica1.com Marc Bony, DC
