7 Pillars of Integral Health

While the health of the planet is our responsibility, so is our health: We are a nature to care for, a body and a mind that we must stop contaminating, destroying, and learn to respect and love just as we love and respect plants, air, and animals.

SUN This is one of the essential elements for health, necessary for the formation of bones and teeth, as it fixes calcium. One can have an excellent and high-quality diet, but if one does not receive enough sunlight, we will become anemic and lacking in health.

It is necessary to get at least 20 minutes of sun, whether by taking a good walk in a park or engaging in an outdoor activity.

AIR Oxygen is another of the indispensable elements for health; proper oxygenation is fundamental for the heat and energy of the organism, for the correct combustion of food, and for its nutrients to be absorbed and deposited adequately.

It is, therefore, of utmost importance to breathe properly and engage in physical activity that helps us obtain a good supply of oxygen. The best oxygen is found in places away from the city: walking in the forest or on the beach is extremely beneficial for health.

EARTH Being in contact with this element helps us to nourish ourselves with energy and to detoxify. One way to be in contact with the earth is to walk barefoot on grass or beach sand, but we can also benefit from it by applying clay, which is excellent for nourishing, firming, and exfoliating the skin.

FOODS These should be of the best possible quality, varied, fresh, and well combined. Processed, sugary, additive-laden, fried, and cured foods should be eliminated, as they only impair the vital functions of the body, robbing energy from the organism instead of providing it.

The diet should primarily consist of vegetables and nuts, as well as seeds.

THOUGHTS The mind must also be nourished, and its best food is thoughts that inspire well-being, harmony, curiosity, exploration, and beauty.

One should strive to keep the mind focused on what is desired and not allow it to be contaminated or distracted by things that produce anger, fear, or other undesirable feelings.

FUN AND JOY The body is not satisfied just by having its needs met to feel good: it needs to feel its heart in life, to feel drawn to living.

Thus, one should seek activities that bring joy from the heart; one must give oneself moments of distraction, break the routine, explore, and dare to experience new ways of doing things, thinking, and seeing the world.

MOVEMENT The entire universe is in motion: although we do not see the stone moving, it does, albeit very slowly, but its molecules are moving. Movement is an essential element of life; everything is moving, everything evolves and expands; nothing can remain static.

Our heart is part of this evolutionary movement, as is our mind; reality grows and evolves. Therefore, we must be willing to change and move, keeping our minds open to new understandings.

When we resist and do not want to change or stop seeing things as we have always seen them, we suffer and endure pain. Thus, do not resist the new; learn to flow, trust in the intelligence, wisdom, and love that exists in every molecule that moves in nature.
