Back Pain
Myth 2: My Back Pain Means There’s Something Wrong with My Back
People often think that if they have spinal pain, it is because their bodies are suffering from some mechanical dysfunction. “Since my body hurts,” they say, “it must mean that something is wrong with my body, something related to the bones, muscles, or the soft tissue that connects them.”
While this is true sometimes, if not often, the case is that it is not the only underlying cause of back pain. In the majority of cases, back pain has other factors.
Other factors that originate in the mind, stress levels, as well as your diet (unhealthy foods), lack of hydration or lack of physical activity can cause episodes of severe pain, even when there is nothing wrong with the spine, discs, joints, muscles, or ligaments. These factors can also physically exacerbate the cause of Back Pain, often making it more painful.
