3 habits for a healthy back

Are your bad habits to blame for your back pain? Incorporate these three ideas into your daily life to keep your back happy for years to come.

  1. Maintain good posture: Just like when we look both ways before crossing the street, something we were taught at an early age, having proper posture is also something we need to learn and teach from a young age. Good posture reduces stress on the muscles and ligaments that support the spine.
  2. Choose your fun and sports wisely: Some popular sports and activities have been aptly called “disk risks.” While we are not trying to stop your fun, just be aware of how activities like roller coasters, water sports, and bouncing activities can affect the spinal cord covering.
  3. Stand more than you sit: Let’s be honest – most of us spend a lot of time sitting. We sit at home, at work, and even during social events. Giving your spine the best chance to stay healthy is to stay active and walk every hour.
