Detox Drink: Healthy Recipes at Home

Explore the power of detox drinks to revitalize your body and improve your well-being. With natural ingredients, you can effectively detoxify at home.

Do you feel bloated or fatigued? Your body may be accumulating toxins. Learn how a detox drink can help you improve your health and well-being.

Examine your knowledge about health and decide what the following have in common:

1-Exposure to chemical cleansers or dust at work
2-Feeling sluggish or bloated
3-Age spots appearing on the skin
4-Chronic fatigue after work

Choose from the following answers:

a) Everything happens after the age of 30.
b) Everything occurs after having a baby.
c) They are all signs of exposure to toxicity.
d) They have nothing in common.

If you chose c) They are all signs of exposure to toxicity, your answer is correct. Purifying or cleaning chemical agents makes you susceptible to the absorption of toxins in the body, and the damage is greater if the toxins remain in the body for a long time. Feeling bloated can be a sign of exposure to toxicity because it indicates that there is something in the digestive tract causing chaos. Age spots are a pigmentation called lipofuscin, which indicates that the body is not keeping up with the level of toxins it is absorbing. And chronic fatigue is always a sign of toxin accumulation somewhere in the body.

The answer to leave all these symptoms behind is a detox drink. A detox drink has the ability to “suck” toxins from the cells, leaving them purified so they can function at full capacity. A detox drink can leave your symptoms in the past, but it requires perseverance in the effort to detoxify; a detox drink recipe will not be enough.
The best detox drink is always a combination of leafy greens like spinach, dandelion, and kale with other fruits and vegetables added for good flavor. The dark green color of the vegetables contains large amounts of natural chlorophyll which stimulates the liver to detoxify itself.

3 Detox drink recipes you can make at home

Detox drink recipes can vary according to your imagination and taste preference. Here are some excellent recipes to get you started:

  • Paradise Tomato Juice

This detox drink recipe is great for detoxifying the colon, liver, and kidneys. Over time, it may also improve vision.

Quantity for 750 ml of juice

Ingredients

1.370 kg of tomatoes, remove the stem
6 carrots, remove leaves and base stem
4 stalks of celery with leaves
1 bunch of parsley
2 leaves of kale
1 handful of cilantro
3 handfuls of spinach
1 tip of mild chili or soft jalapeño

Instructions

Note: If you do not have a blender and can use a mixer, change the recipe and use half of each ingredient. Then add 500 cl of water or more to dilute the thickness of the mixture.

  • Carrot-Apple-Strawberry-Spinach Juice

This recipe contains apple, one of the best detoxifiers for the gallbladder. Apple juice contains malic acid, which can erode the sharp edges of gallstones. Spinach and carrots are excellent cleansers of the liver and colon. Strawberry is good for vision because it is rich in vitamin C. Vitamin C is also essential for detoxification.

Quantity for 750 ml of juice

Ingredients

6 carrots, without leaves or base of the stem
4 apples, cored
200 gr of washed strawberries with their leaves
2 handfuls of spinach

Instructions

In a blender, put all the ingredients. To help the spinach fit better in the juicer, use the carrots to push them down. Then remove the juice. Serve this refreshing drink to your whole family.

Note: If you do not have a blender but have a mixer, reduce to 2 carrots, 1 apple, 100 gr of strawberries, and the two handfuls of spinach. Add 250 cl or 125 cl of water to dilute the thickness of the mixture.

  • Milk Thistle and Maca Infusion

Milk Thistle is known for its detoxifying property for the liver. Maca is an energizing herb from the Peruvian forest. This blend is a very invigorating combination.

Quantity for 2 cups of infusion

Ingredients

5 gr (one tablespoon or one tea bag) of milk thistle herb
5 gr (one tablespoon or one tea bag) of maca herb
300 ml of distilled water
1 infusion filter or bag

Instructions

Boil the water in a kettle or wherever you wish. Distilled water is always preferable for making herbal infusions because it carries the medicinal property of the herb into the water.

Place your cup on the table, put the herb mixture inside the filter or bag. Add the boiling water. Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, remove the filter from the cup, and it is ready to drink.

When to drink your detox infusion

You may wonder when is the best time of day to drink your infusion. This will depend on your intention. If you want to detoxify your liver, the best time to drink may be after a meal. Although generally, detox drinks are taken on an empty stomach throughout the day. Doing it this way allows your body to focus on detoxification. (1 glass a day on an empty stomach for a month)
