What color should urine be?

What color should urine be
Dark yellow urine is often a sign that you are not drinking enough water.
The normal color of urine is light yellow or pale yellow.
But what does it mean if your urine is a different color? There are many reasons for changes in the color of your urine:
– diseases,
– certain foods,
– supplements,
– dehydration
– all can cause changes in urine color.
Some of the reasons for changes in urine color are as follows:
• Red urine – This may be a sign of the presence of blood in the urine (requires further investigation as it can be one of many causes), consumption of certain foods, berries, food colorings, medications, or a urinary tract infection.
• Green urine – This can occur from eating asparagus or other foods or from artificial colorings in medications or foods.
• Orange urine – This can occur from eating rhubarb, laxatives with Senna, bile in the urine, or dehydration.
• Cloudy urine – This can occur from a bladder infection, certain kidney diseases, different types of foods or drinks, normal vaginal secretions or abnormal vaginal discharge, kidney stones, or prostatitis.
• Blue urine – This is usually the result of artificial colorings in foods or medications.
• Purple urine – Indicates fluid of foreign or extraterrestrial origin. (Just kidding!).
• Clear urine – Often the result of hydration and good health. If your urine is a different color and you are concerned, and you are sure it is not related to the consumption of a particular food or medication that is artificially colored, you should seek advice from a healthcare professional to rule out any serious condition or disease that may require further treatment.
In the meantime, make sure to drink plenty of water (2 liters). Water “that cleans the system” of impurities and keeps your “engine” running. Regular visits to the chiropractor also keep your immune system functioning at its maximum capacity to help you combat many of the causes of illness. Marc Bony, DC
