This definition differs, in part, from the idea that it is usually identified as the \u201c.\u201c<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">defense system<\/span>\u201d. However, the definition given at the beginning should be explained in a little more detail so that the complexity and the great importance of such a system for us to be able to maintain a healthy situation on a regular basis can be understood.<\/p>\n<p>But how does the immune system work in man? The detailed study of the immune system is enormously complex and although many unknowns remain to be solved, extraordinary and permanent progress has been made in the last fifty years in the understanding of immunity.<\/p>\n<p>We will try to explain it in an easy way and in order to make it a bit more understandable we could compare the immune system with the army of a sovereign state. This state (our organism) needs to possess defensive mechanisms that protect it from possible foreign invasions that could annihilate it.
