Tracking or Countdown of Health

Health Tracking
A very common question that chiropractors and their patients have to confront is the word tracking.
Many patients cannot understand why they have to go back over their steps, step by step, through the different stages of their illness(es) that have been progressing, in order to be able to regain their health.
What do we mean by the word Track?
Firstly, it implies going back over ground that has already been covered until the individual reaches the starting point. When a patient is under chiropractic care, it often occurs that they exhibit symptoms that had not manifested for months or perhaps years.
Their first impression is that they are getting worse, although the facts show that they are tracking several stages through which their illness has progressed. This is not particular to only certain cases but is a common condition to which we are subject.
The illness can be tracked, step by step, until reaching the point where it began: called health.
Extent of Involvement
Some abnormalities show a large extent of tissue, while others show very little extent of the same tissue. In some diseases, scientists have been unable to determine which tissues are involved and in what way they have been altered.
However, it logically must be true that if the patient is suffering from an illness, there must be an abnormality in tissue function.
Assuming there is involvement of the tissue and that the structure is abnormal, the different stages through which it has gone can be tracked, taking into account the abnormal condition.
This is perfectly illustrated in various skin eruptions where the tissue gradually changes and becomes abnormal, reaching its highest degree of abnormality and then slowly returning through the various stages by which it has modified its appearance until the skin becomes normal again.
This can also apply to those tissues in the body that are not visible.
How Disease Occurs
For a cell of a tissue to be healthy, it must receive three essentials. First, it must receive oxygen in adequate amounts, also nutrition in adequate amounts and quality, which means it must receive vital energy in appropriate amounts and quality through the nervous system.
The supply of oxygen is controlled by the total energy through the nervous system. Ultimately, the three essentials directly depend on being able to receive the appropriate amounts and types of vital energy. This is then essential.
This is the key in the arc upon which all activities depend. The expression of this vital energy in cellular tissue depends on the conditions of the nervous system as it is the medium through which vital force is transmitted from the brain to all parts of the body.
If an abnormal condition arises, it is due to an interference with the free transmission of vital energy from the brain to the cellular tissues.
There is only one place where this interference can occur. That place is the spine, through which the nerve trunks pass. If a vertebral subluxation occurs, it results in a partial closure of the opening through which the nerves pass.
This naturally produces interference on the fibers contained in the nerve trunk, so that vital energy cannot be transmitted at a normal rate.
Each fiber that is affected by this compression supplies some cellular tissue, and that cellular tissue is abnormal to the extent that the fiber is affected.
If many of the fibers are involved, then many cells are as well and remain in a state of disease until they can again receive their share of vital energy. This can only be accomplished when the interference they are undergoing is eliminated.
The Element of Time
The issue of time is essential when talking about tracking. If an illness has been progressing for several years, the patient does not expect to return to their normal state in the following days.
Just as it took time for the patient’s condition to change from healthy to a maximum degree of abnormality, it takes time to track the abnormal condition back to being healthy again. Again, one of the segments of the spine may have suddenly assumed an abnormal position, producing compressions in the tiny nerve fibers that supply the cells of those segments.
Process
As a result, inflammation occurs, and with the excessive heat that occurs at this moment, there is melting and fusion of the displaced segments with the other bones with which they are in contact.
This can occur in a few days and will take several months of chiropractic care for this condition to disappear. This result has been given simply to show that the time it will take for recovery does not always correspond with the time it took in the production of the disease.
It is worth mentioning and can be raised that acute diseases respond quickly while chronic cases that have persisted are slower in their response. Marc Bony, DC
