The Vertebral Subluxation

La Subluxación Vertebral

What is vertebral subluxation?

Vertebral subluxation is a disturbance in the bones, muscles, and nerves of the spine that causes compression, tension, irritation, and damage to the Central Nervous System.

This interferes with the function of the Central Nervous System and causes the organs and muscles of the body to not function properly, greatly reducing your ability to heal.

The Central Nervous System (or neurological system) is composed of:

• the Brain

• the Spinal Cord

• and the Nerves that exit your Spine.

The wisdom of your body coordinates all function and the ability to heal in your body through the Central Nervous System.

What causes these Subluxations?

These subluxations are caused by periods of stress and trauma in our lives.

Any type of stress that your body cannot integrate properly at some point in your life can produce Vertebral Subluxations. There are basically three types of stress:

  1. physical (Falls, car accidents, childhood falls, and the birth process)
  2. chemical (exposure to chemicals, junk food, medications)
  3. emotional (family stress, stress in your romantic relationship, abuse)

can cause the vertebrae of your spine or the spinal cord to deviate from their proper position. “When there are excessive changes in the spinal cord, changes in motor, sensory, and autonomic function can be observed.

This is accentuated when the spinal cord is stretched and can be reversible. Symptoms disappear if that stretching can be eliminated and the affected tissues remain relaxed.” Alf Breig, Neurosurgeon
