Maria Benítez Scoliosis         Scoliosis Treatment Mataro My name is María Benítez, I am 34 years old and I am from Argentona. Since I was little, I have had thoracolumbar scoliosis (spinal deviation). I have always been under the care of Traumatologists.

Everyone told me that my problem had no remedy, that as I got older, the pain would worsen, and that when I had children it would be worse. At 11 or 12 years old, I wore a corrective device for my back, called a milwaukee brace, which was a corset that extended from the hips to the cervical area.

I had a really hard time with that; at school, they laughed at me and it was not very pleasant. The doctor only told me to swim and take anti-inflammatories that did nothing but cause me stomach pain.

I have two children, and the births went quite well, but my back hurt more and more. My temperament, for many years, was quite bad; you know, that thing they say about being in a “bad mood” all day. I own a bar-restaurant, and when I got home, I could only sit on the sofa and do nothing.

Just complain about the pain. I have also spent a lot of money on masseurs and physiotherapists, who relieve the pain for a few days but then it comes back. Even a physiotherapist broke two of my ribs!

My brother came to the chiropractor through a friend of his, and my mother, seeing me so bad, told me that I had nothing to lose by trying.

I came to the health class with her, and the truth is that I didn’t believe much of what Marc said, but for my mother, I agreed to come.

During the time I have been coming, I have experienced everything, from every time the chiropractor made an adjustment and my period came, to having sciatica, lumbago, headaches, pain in my legs, in my knees… This is corrective reversal.

Now, I am much better, my temperament has changed, I am in a good mood most of the day, my spinal deviation hardly hurts at all, and when I get home, I have time to do my household chores, play with my children, and many more things.

I have taken a family package, and I bring my children and my husband, and we are delighted. I can clean my house without pain, play with my children, lift weights…

I am grateful for chiropractic and Dr. Marc; I know I still have some time to be much better, but we will achieve it, I am sure: Argentona, April 28, 2008
