Difference between Chiropractic and Quiromassage

Chiropractic

Chiropractic has nothing to do with quiromassage.The Doctor of Chiropractic performs specific chiropractic adjustments in order to normalize the functioning of the vertebrae to avoid interference with the nervous system.(hyperexcitability of a nerve causing abnormal function).

The adjustments are very brief, very specific, and highly effective manual applications that require a great skill that only a Licensed Chiropractor (7 years of university) should perform to correct a vertebral subluxation.

It has nothing to do with the manual movements performed on the skin or muscles known as massages or manipulations.

Quiromassage:

Massages are techniques for muscle relaxation. Massage therapy does not require university-level training. Attendance at a couple of weekend seminars is sufficient to use the title of “quiromasseur”.

In the end, they only have in common part of their name, the word “Chiro” from the Greek meaning Hands.

The Spanish Association of Chiropractors regulates and lists the Graduates in Chiropractic.
