Harmful or Beneficial Cow’s Milk

..For the human body

A True Story

The story of Professor Jane Plant, geochemist and chief scientist of the British Geological Survey – a prestigious British public institution dedicated to geological research –

Can serve as a significant example for many women as she has survived 5 breast tumors and conventional medical practices to treat her cancer.

And she has done so, as she herself claims, in a very simple way: by eliminating all dairy from her diet. Her story is similar to that of many other women. She felt the same panic when she was diagnosed with breast cancer and, trusting in the expertise of oncologists, underwent a mastectomy and irradiation of her ovaries because she was told that this would induce menopause, suppress estrogen production, and potentially cure the cancer. But it all turned out to be false. In fact, the cancer recurred up to 4 times. ‘I suffered the amputation of one breast, underwent radiotherapy, and endured very painful chemotherapy.

I was seen by the most eminent specialists in my country but deep down I was sure I was facing death. And I was about to throw in the towel’, says Professor Plant in her book Your Life in Your Hands, in which she recounts her own experience and explains how she arrived at the idea that saved her life.

Following a trip of my husband to China – she recounts in her work – I began to think that my illness was virtually nonexistent in that country. In fact, only one in every 10,000 women dies of breast cancer in China, while in the UK the official figures speak of one in every 12.

Then my husband – who is also a scientist – and I began to research the lifestyle and diet of the Orientals until we arrived at the idea that saved my life: Chinese women do not get breast cancer and men do not develop prostate tumors because they are unable to tolerate milk and, therefore, do not consume it. Moreover, we learned that the Chinese are unable to understand the Western concern about drinking cow’s milk.

They never use it, let alone to breastfeed their babies! And if you stop to think about it, it cannot be mere coincidence that more than 70% of the world’s population has been unable to digest lactose. Today, what I believe is that nature is trying to warn us in time that we are eating the wrong food.

When Jane Plant considered all this, she was undergoing chemotherapy for her fifth breast tumor. And it was then that she decided to completely eliminate dairy intake, including all foods that contain any milk: soups, cookies, cakes, margarines, etc. And what happened? ‘In just a few days – she notes in her book – the tumor began to shrink. Two weeks after my second chemotherapy session and one week after eliminating milk and its derivatives, the tumor started to itch. Then it softened and began to diminish. About six weeks later it had disappeared.

In fact, my oncologist at Charing Cross Hospital in London could not suppress his astonished exclamation of ‘I can’t find it!’ when he examined the area where the lump had been.

Apparently, he did not expect someone with such advanced cancer – it had already invaded my lymphatic system – to survive.

Fortunately, that oncologist managed to overcome his initial skepticism and now recommends a dairy-free diet to his patients.

Convinced that stopping dairy consumption was what had saved her life, Jane Plant decided to document her knowledge and experience in the aforementioned book. Immediately, more than 60 women suffering from breast cancer contacted her for advice.

Their tumors also disappeared.

‘Although it was not easy to accept that such a ‘natural’ substance as milk could have such repercussions for health – Plant explains – I now have no doubt that the relationship between dairy products and breast cancer is similar to that between tobacco and lung cancer.

But not only that, because, for example, as early as 1989, Dr. Daniel Cramer from Harvard University determined that these products are implicated in the onset of ovarian cancer. And data on prostate cancer leads to similar conclusions. The World Health Organization (WHO) itself states that the number of men suffering from this cancer in China is 0.5 per 10,000, while in the UK the figure is 70 times higher.

The key is undoubtedly in dairy consumption.

For Professor Plant, cow’s milk is a great food… but only for calves! And she firmly states that nature did not intend it to be consumed by any other species. ‘In fact, I am convinced – she concludes – that I saved my life by stopping the consumption of cow’s milk. I only wish that my experience can serve more women and men who, unknowingly, may be sick due to the dairy they consume.’

In her book, in addition to details of her own experience and interesting data about her research on the effects of cow’s milk on our health, a series of nutritional recommendations are included, summarized in a diet primarily consisting of soy milk, herbal tea, sesame seeds, tofu, nuts, and plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
