According to a recent article published on August 24, 1999 in “USA TODAY”, more than 80% of seniors aged 65 and older are aware of the call of alternative medicine.

This awareness has been growing due to the increased use of these services.

Statistics comparing the use of chiropractic with other non-medical modalities are as follows: Chiropractic leads with a usage rate of 32%, followed by massage therapy at 16%, acupuncture at 9%, homeopathy at 4%, neuropathy at 3%, and Chinese medicine at 3%.

A recent study published in “Topics in Clinical Chiropractic” on a randomized trial conducted with patients in a geriatric setting showed that patients who seek chiropractic care are less likely to be hospitalized.

And less likely to be admitted to a nursing home, while having a greater chance of enjoying good health, more possibility of being energetically active, and being a self-sufficient person in the community.
