Chiropractic and Fibromyalgia Granollers

Most patients with fibromyalgia (FM) suffer from chronic pain, stiffness, and burning sensations in the neck, shoulders, lower back, and hips.

Others experience depression, chronic fatigue, dizziness, headaches, or sleep disturbances. Suffering from fibromyalgia

Statistics show that fibromyalgia is one of the most common musculoskeletal pain disorders or fatigue disorders in developed countries, affecting more than 10% of the population.

FM occurs more frequently in women aged between 20 and 50 years.

People suffering from FM typically try common medical treatments such as pain relievers, muscle relaxants, antidepressants, sleeping pills, cortisone injections, and in extreme cases, surgery.

Medical Reality

Unfortunately, the “Physician’s Desk Reference” or “Vademecum” reveals that the use of drugs to treat FM can cause dangerous side effects.
Fibromyalgia and neck injuries

Causes and Solutions

Although the causes of FM are not fully understood, numerous studies and clinical trials show that FM often develops after a traumatic neck injury.

About 70% of FM patients in our centers can relate the onset of FM symptoms to a specific neck injury. These injuries can be caused by a sports accident, car accident, work injuries, repetitive movements, stress, falls, or even trauma during birth.

World-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Michael Rosner notes that when the neck is hyperextended backward, the spinal canal narrows, affecting the spine and the brainstem.

This can occur in cases of “whiplash” in car accidents, prolonged dental work where the head is extended backward, or severe coughing fits. Even activities like painting ceilings can cause cervical injuries that could culminate in FM. Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia and the brainstem

The brainstem, which can be compared to a telephone cable with millions of small wires or nerve fibers sending signals between the brain and the body, controls almost all vital functions of the body.

Misalignments in the upper spine (neck) can affect the function of the brainstem, which can be a critical factor in the development of FM and chronic fatigue syndrome.

A trauma or pressure in the upper neck can cause the same symptoms we have seen in patients with FM or chronic fatigue syndrome. These symptoms can appear instantly after an injury or years later.
Care for the upper cervical spine and fibromyalgia

Chiropractic

The doctors at our centers are achieving exceptional results with patients with fibromyalgia. Clinical studies and observed cases confirm the improvement that FM patients have experienced after receiving care for the upper cervical spine.

If you suffer from FM or chronic fatigue and want help, do not hesitate to call our center.

Care for the upper cervical spine has improved the quality of life for countless patients with FM.

One study showed that patients with fibromyalgia improved between 92%-100% after receiving care for the upper cervical spine. Everyone was able to return to their jobs and daily tasks!
